Abstract

Annotation. Based on archival materials, the article examines the causes and consequences of political repression in Uzbekistan that occurred in the 30s of the last century, as well as their consequences for Kazakhs who were forced to move to Uzbekistan. The relevance of the research lies in the study of the Soviet period of the history of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, the definition of the study of the topics of political repression in general in historical science. It should be noted that in recent years, over a thousand victims of the repressions of the Soviet totalitarian regime have been rehabilitated in Uzbekistan, which made it possible to identify the names of Kazakhstanis who, by the will of fate, found themselves in Uzbekistan.

The article describes the characteristics of several repressive Kazakhstanis accused of nationalism and whose names became known only many decades later.

The article is presented in the genre of “historical portrait”, which presents pages from the political, public or personal life of the “hero" based on reliable archival and museum sources. The article is based on historical events from their lives, in which the “portrayed” person was individually represented in the study.

The research may represent the interests of studying the historical aspects of the Soviet era of the first half of the twentieth century.
