Abstract

Abstract. Due to the geopolitical situation between modern Turkey and Kazakhstan, uniting Turkic-speaking peoples, connecting cultures with each other and stimulating to know our ultimate history of origin. Therefore, in this paper, we compared the theatre arts of the two countries and showed the symbols and means of theatre that reflect national values and national identity in Turkish theatre and Kazakh theatre arts. In addition, a comparative analysis was made by examining the continuity between the theatres of the two countries. The origins and characteristics of the traditional theatre arts of the two countries were also analysed, highlighting their types by genre. In particular, the analysis of genre types of productions was carried out: "Karakoz", "medda", "medium play", "comedy", "tragedy", "drama", "sound drama".

The scientific article aims to identify, adapt and transform the common features of Kazakh and Turkish theatre elements. Based on the results of the research, the cultural and national continuities of Turkish and Kazakh theatre arts with each other were identified, and theatre art as a social institution was differentiated into an environment that emphasises national identity. In addition, the research work has generated interest in expanding the understanding of the interaction of cultures and theatre traditions between the two countries.
