Abstract

Abstract. Using the Chegedek collection in the funds of the National Museum of the Altai Republic to restore traditional clothing of the Altai woman. Chegedek is a symbolic clothing of women of the nomadic part of the Turkic-Mongolian world. The legend about the origin of the Chegedek from swan plumage. Modern clothing of a married Altai woman in a wedding ceremony. Methods of decorating a Chegedek. Since the Chegedek has a special multi-layered lining, it is heavy, so it was ousted from everyday use. But it will remain a symbol of craft culture in the traditions of nomads. Some researchers associate the Chegedek costume with the worship of the blue god in Buryat genealogical legends, others - with a beautiful maiden in Kyrgyz oral literature. National costumes have been formed over the centuries and have become an important part of the national culture. Today, the Chegedek can be found among the national costumes of Altai, it can be ordered in local workshops that sew national costumes. The article examines the concept of chegedek not only as everyday clothing, but also as a craft product that developed depending on the lifestyle, climate and social status of the people.
