Abstract. The article analyzes the public and political activities of the statesman and public figure, ethnographer-scholar Uzbekali Zhanibekov, focusing on his contribution to the revival of the national culture of the Kazakh people and to the preservation and promotion of traditional arts. The study comprehensively examines his organizational and research activities aimed at restoring ancient Kazakh musical instruments, reviving “forgotten” folk dances, establishing folklore and ethnographic ensembles, reconstructing traditional Kazakh national costumes, and founding the мuseum of Kazakh National Musical Instruments. In addition, the article highlights the public figure’s vision of developing national culture in accordance with contemporary demands, as well as emphasizes the significance of national heritage for cultural policy and for fostering patriotism among the younger generation. Uzbekali Zhanibek's personality should be assessed as a moral example of selfless service to the nation, inextricably linked to the mission of reviving national culture. This allows us to recognize his service to the country not simply as a historical fact, but also as a moral example for contemporary cultural policy and national education. This study examines only his moral actions in creating traditional musical and folklore ensembles, and in reviving ancient musical instruments, dance, and Kazakh costumes.
