Abstract. This article examines the role and significance of mobile exhibitions in the cultural and educational activities of museums. The relevance of the study is determined by the growing need to promote the national historical and cultural heritage, improve forms of interaction between museums and society, and ensure equal access to cultural values and museum collections for various groups of the population, including residents of remote settlements.
The purpose of the study is to determine the place of mobile exhibitions in the cultural and educational activities of museums and to analyze their effectiveness in promoting historical and cultural heritage.
The study explores the experience of the project of the «Pottery Craft in the Kazakh Steppe», organized by the Aktobe Regional Museum of History and Local Lore. Particular attention is paid to the organization of the exhibition and workshops conducted within the framework of the project, audience outreach, cultural and educational effectiveness, and the project's significance in increasing visitors’ interest in historical heritage.
