Abstract. The study aims to describe the lives of family members of the “enemies of the people”, persecuted by Stalin, based on materials from the secret NKVD process. The article highlights the abuses of the totalitarian system against the spouses and family members of Myrzakhan Tolebayev and Mailin Baymbet, honorable citizens of Alash. These factual documents are introduced into scientific circulation for the first time. The novelty of the study lies in the ability to consider the problem in an interdisciplinary context, thanks to new factual materials from declassified documents of the Soviet NKVD law enforcement agencies. Documents in the personal cases of the accused testify to the harsh life of the wives of “enemies of the people” in prisons and to the crimes of the authoritarian system that prevented their recovery even after release. The publication of these «Top Secret» documents will enrich the number of studies on this topic.

As a result of the study, the author concludes that the family history of devoted people condemned as «enemies of the people» cannot be confined to a small article, as it is one of the current topics that still need to be fully explored in the future.
