Abstract. This article presents an archaeographic analysis of two volumes of the collection of documents The Alash affair of 1920-1930. The types of documents included in the first and second volumes of the book, the chronological framework, and the scientific reference apparatus prepared for each volume of the publication are noted. In addition, the peculiarities of the selection of archival and investigative documents, the design of texts, and their publication were noted.
The purpose of the article is to familiarize with the composition of the documents published in the book and the features of archaeological processing. When publishing two volumes of the book, the compilation team set a goal, firstly, to convey to the consciousness of young people and future generations the contradictory essence of the era, and secondly, so that the exiled people do not lose faith in the future, tolerance, and fortitude, no matter what happens. Thirdly, they revealed the image of the society they had created. The materials included in the collection tell about the fate of the arrested Kazakh nationalists, characterize the tragic twentieth century as a whole, and are documents about events that occurred as a result of anti-people policy.
The main objective of the article is to popularize investigative documents related to the history of Alash, the publication of previously unknown archival documents.
