Abstract

Abstract. The article provides a semiotic-comparative analysis of the nomadic calendar types of the Sayan-Altai Turkic peoples and Kazakhs. Today, this topic is relevant because the 12-year zoomorphic calendar of the nomads of Eurasia, which promotes interpersonal and interethnic self-awareness and relates to a complex sociocultural form of regulation of human relations. The 12-year animal calendar of the Turkic peoples (Teleuts, Tuvinians, Kazakhs) is not only a complex system of cultural adaptation of these peoples to their environment, but also acts as one of the important cultural regulators of their daily life.

The purpose of the study is to conduct a comparative semiotic analysis of the genesis of sacred time in the form of the 12-year animal calendar of the Turkic nomadic peoples of Southern and Western Siberia. The novelty of the study is determined by the comparative semiotic analysis of the concept of sacred time in Turkish culture, based on the identification of common and different forms and methods of organizing the cultural life of the Turkic peoples.

The results of the study were carried out in two thematic blocks: “Sacred time in the cultural life of Teleuts and Kazakhs” and “12-year animal calendar as a regulator of the everyday culture of Tuvans, Teleuts and Kazakhs.”
